The Match

You may have heard of Registered Dietitians (RD).  To become an RD, first you need to finish a large array of coursework.

Next, comes an internship.  The internships are super competitive, and challenging to get into.  To do an internship, there is a matching process.  You apply to various programs, and rank them in the order you would prefer to enter into the program.  The programs then decide the order of applicants based on the detailed applications and interviews.  A digital company then matches applicants to programs.  Applicants may match (only half of applicants match to an internship!), and if they do, they get matched to just one program.

I am working towards my RD certification, meaning I had to apply to internships and deal with the matching process.  The results of the match were released yesterday (April Fool's Day... how appropriate).  And the winner is....

Loyola! I will be attending the Loyola University Dietetic Internship starting this August.  This means there will be much playing in Chicago in my near future! I am thrilled and looking forward to the experience so so much.

To add to the glee of finding out my match, I defended my master's thesis yesterday.  Annnddd... I passed! So I am now a Master of Science.  There are so many things that have happened in the past 2 days, to know that I've successfully been able to wrap up my graduate work (well, almost), and to know where I will be spending the next year.  I'm exhausted! And in need of celebratory rainbow sprinkles :)

Happy Tuesday!  I hope it's filled with little joys.

  2. Congrats Master Rink. Also, perhaps when you're there....you can let them know that their emblem is mispelled.

  3. FYI Stephanie. You have a bad Loyola logo up. Misspells Chicago.
